Monstera's are famous for their natural leaf-holes, which led to the nickname Swiss Cheese Plant.

Light: Thrives in bright-to-medium indirect sunlight, should avoid intense direct sunlight.

Water: You should water every 1-2 weeks allowing the soil to dry out in between waterings. Expect to water more in brighter light and less in lower light. Monstera's can benefit from filtered water or water left out overnight before watering.

Temperature: Keep the temperature between 18-30°C, do not keep it below 15°C.

The cheese plant performs best in humid conditions, however normal room humidity would be ok.

It is generally an easy to keep plant, however if the leaves turn brown & crispy at the edges, this means it is thirsty or has a high salt build up. If it begins to wilt and has dry potting mix, it is under-watered and pot-bound. If the leaves start to yellow and the stems turn black, this means it is over-watered.

If consumed it can be irritating to dogs, cats and humans - keep out of reach.

Image shows two Monstera's, they are sold separately and come in their plastic pots. The tin pots they are displayed in can be purchased here
